Area travelers will have more flights between Fort Dodge and St. Louis, Missouri, available to them beginning today.
However, they will have fewer flights between Fort Dodge and Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport in Minnesota.
Air Choice One, the carrier that serves Fort Dodge Regional Airport, announced Wednesday that is adding one more daily flight to Lambert -St. Louis International Airport while dropping one daily flight to the Twin Cities.
The schedule of flights between Fort Dodge and Chicago O’Hare International Airport in Illinois will remain unchanged.
The leader of the St. Louis-based airline attributed the changes to increased passenger demand.
“We always look out for what will best meet our passengers’ needs and there has been a high demand for more flights to St. Louis,” Shane Storz, the chief executive officer of Air Choice One, said in a written statement.
“Switching one of our flights that had previously flown to Minneapolis so that it now flies to St. Louis allows us to best meet the needs of our passengers using resources we already have,” he added. “We look forward to continuing our service to the Fort Dodge community and keeping open communication so we can respond in a way that benefits them.”
The new St. Louis flight will depart from Fort Dodge at 7:30 a.m. on weekdays and at 9 a.m. on weekends.
There will no longer be flights between Fort Dodge and Minneapolis-St. Paul on weekends.
