Fort Dodge has become an impressive example of growth for other areas around the state of Iowa to model, according to Maureen Elbert, executive director of the Kossuth and Palo Alto County Economic Development Corporation.
"I am very impressed with all of the changes that have been taking place here," she said. "In fact, this is growing and becoming a showplace of growth, new ideas and new infrastructure that we are all looking at."
Elbert is one of about 200 economic development officials from across Iowa attending the 2016 Fall Conference of the Professional Developers of Iowa. Many of them gathered Wednesday night for an opening reception at Fort Frenzy, 3232 First Ave. S.
