The local artistic talents in the Greater Fort Dodge area bring an abundance of beauty and interest to our community. Our arts and culture scene encompasses a wide variety of musical and artistic styles and genres. We are thankful for the people that bring art and culture to our community and the organizations that work hard to support its success and growth.

We are particularly grateful for the Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association, the organization that leads and guides the arts and culture opportunities in the region. The association works tirelessly to make arts more accessible to everyone. They believe creativity enriches the community, and they strive to educate us all in order to enhance art appreciation.

"I am constantly blown away by the talent we have in our community. The arts are thriving in Fort Dodge, and in Iowa overall. I look forward to seeing the result of 2020 on artwork over the next few years. How people interpret this time and how they, creatively, explore how to express it," says Shelly Bottorff, Executive Director, Fort Dodge Fine Arts Association.

The holidays are the perfect time to explore the local talent at our art museum and galleries and listen to our symphony orchestra and choral society. When COVID-19 social distancing permits, families and friends can enjoy vocal performing ensembles, live music and theater productions in the community. The Lights at Kennedy and Holiday concerts at Iowa Central Community College are other festive events our residents and visitors are able to experience during this wonderful time of year! We appreciate all who champion the exceptional arts and culture here in the Fort Dodge area.
