Responsibilities

This position is responsible for executing the strategic capital plan for Elanco’s Fort Dodge, IA animal vaccine manufacturing facility. The incumbent will oversee small and large-scale expansion projects as well as facility & utility upgrades and improvements. These projects will include the design, purchase, and installation of process equipment. -Planning, organizing, allocating resources, and developing capital projects, timelines and budgets. -Provide Engineering support in development of project specifications (URS, functional specification, detail design). -Work with vendors and stake holders on design, installation, commissioning, factory acceptance test, startup, and validation of equipment. -Oversee contractor personnel, ensuring projects are completed within the desired timelines, meeting Engineering, Quality and financial requirements. -Review proposals and documents to verify adherence to project scope and technical expectations. -Communicate with management to ensure compliance with local, state, Federal and international codes and regulations. Communicate any issues with Environmental Health and Safety department and Management to ensure safety of company personal and contractors. Projects comply with Quality, Regulatory and EHS requirements. -Gain on the job training with concentration units, CIP systems, Stainless Steel piping & welding, Freeze Dryers, autoclaves, etc. and other process engineering systems. -Scheduling capital activities to meet production needs.

Qualifications

-BS in Engineering required; Chemical or Mechanical discipline most preferred -2+ years’ previous experience supporting manufacturing equipment in an aseptic environment -Ability to understand, evaluate, and implement validation strategies in tandem with project activities -Proven ability to deliver capital projects on-time, within budget and with desired deliverables -Previous experience working in a regulated environment to lower market risk -Mechanical aptitude -Excellent written and verbal communication skills -Attention to detail and commitment to customer service -Experience with Auto-CAD preferred
