Job description: Supervise and monitor the refinery process with a focus on co-products in order to achieve daily production targets Summary of Essential Job Functions: · Responsible for monitoring of the refinery process with a focus on co-product · Issuing directions to refinery staff in order to achieve production targets · Observing production data and trends to identify and eliminate production inefficiencies and prevent production problems before they occur · Manage all department personnel, including hiring, firing, discipline, performance evaluations, timecards, pto and coaching · Responsible for creating, implementing and ensuring compliance with departmental training, procedures, SOPs and documentation · Monitoring and controlling plant wastewater within city, state and federal regulations · Daily and monthly closing/ production calculations and data entry, with extended work hours as needed until closing is complete. · Ensure all MES and SAP data entry is done correctly · Ensure all departmental SOP’s, data entry forms are accurate and current · Minimize utility and chemical consumption while achieving production goals · Coordinating breakdown and preventative maintenance · Assuring compliance with FAMI-QS, city, state and federal, regulations · Communicate with other departments to ensure efficient production process · Drive process improvement and improve efficiency while lowering production costs · Facilitate communication between management and operational staff. · Monitor and report co-product quality, production volumes and inventory · Oversee/perform operations at fertilizer ponds and load-out areas including but not limited to regular maintenance and housekeeping · Coordinate product orders, including pick up schedules, purchase orders, associated paperwork and submitting records for billing & accounting be the point of contact for co-product customers · Responsible month and year end closings, which requires working extended hours · Perform other duties as assigned Disclaimer: This job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of work performed by employees within this classification. Education and Experience: · Master’s degree OR · Bachelor’s degree & 3 years of directly related experience OR · Associate’s degree & 6 years directly related experience OR · High school diploma/GED & 8 years of directly related experience · supervisory experience, manufacturing experience, and process control software experience preferred Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: · Ability to participate in a high performance team-based environment that is fast-learning and adaptive; · Ability to communicate effectively and participate in a continuous improvement culture, including utilizing problem solving skills; · Willing to cross-train into other areas; ensure conformance to standard work by following the process; communicate any issues to the appropriate resources in a timely manner; · Computer skills required, i.e. Microsoft Excel, Word, SAP, MES; · Critical thinking, multi-tasking and troubleshooting skills; · Knowledge of how to operate an automated process system; · Attention to detail; · Supervisory experience · Manufacturing experience · Process control software experience · SAP experience · Analytical ability; · Data Analysis skills; · Customer service skills; Physical Demands & Work Environment: · Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:00pm, however business needs may require additional hours worked · This position supervises the work of others · This position works primarily in an office environment, but will also be work in manufacturing environment which includes exposure to moving parts, high noise levels, vibrations, varying atmospheric conditions, temperatures, chemicals, high pressure steam, dust · Minimal travel is expected for this position · Ability to remain in a stationary position up to 70% of shift; · Frequently walks extended distances; · Frequently ascend/descend stairs and ladders to observe the process; · Ability to enter confined spaces as necessary; · Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; · Must be able to wear full-face respirator and protective equipment as needed. This includes minimal facial hair in order to ensure proper fit in of respirator in accordance with OSHA regulations. Must complete annual medical monitoring program, including pulmonary function testing.
