Properly staffing the department, which includes hiring, training, motivating and monitoring the performance of all Parts Department staff Maintaining an orderly workplace Inventory accuracy, cycle counts, parts return and annual inventories counts Working with the Service Department to ensure inventory is available when needed Establishing competitive pricing specifications in various categories while maintaining warranty parts parameters Determining appropriate inventory levels while ensuring regular parts turnover Adjusting stock to curtail accumulation of unused or old parts Confirming that parts rooms are set up correctly and the process is in place to ensure all parts are properly barcoded Developing and maintaining reports that provide management with accurate usages, costs and inventory values Assist with developing SOP’s for the department Report directly to the Vice President of Maintenance Other duties as assigned
3+ years of experience managing a multi-location Automotive Parts Department Strong communication skills with coworkers, vendors and upper management The ability to work the hours required to ensure the success of the department that may include extended daily hours and some weekend hours Strong hands on abilities to ensure parts rooms are set up and operating efficiently Strong computer skills to assist with reporting and inventory control; Experience with Cetaris software a plus Proficiency in systems and software applications including, but not limited to Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Power Point) and other business solutions. High proficiency with and ability to create, interpret, communicate and analyze data and reports, spreadsheets, tables, charts and other various performance tracking mechanisms Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds Valid driver’s license required Ability to travel to out of state Decker Terminals as needed Formal Quality Management training is preferred Mechanical experience in heavy duty trucks is a plus. Shop experience with heavy duty trucks is a plus.
