1. Develop, implement and monitor Fort Dodge’s Safety Program, which includes the prevention and elimination of injuries, near misses, musculoskeletal disorders, and damage to company property. Develop, implement, and enhance a Behavioral Safety and People Based Safety process to include reviewing and tracking observations for the purpose of enhancing safety awareness and promoting employees becoming their brother’s keeper. Promote safety through proactive safety campaigns, training, and different activities 2. Investigate injuries and near misses; evaluate the incident report and accident report, determine root causes and preventive measures; follow up and conduct counseling sessions; complete Accident Alerts and complete OSHA 300 Log. Administer and coordinate Workers Comp Program in conjunction with insurance carrier and medical providers. Follow up on medical treatment. 3. Coordinate, organize, prepare and follow up for the monthly Safety Committee meetings. Assist in employee relations and other human resource activities as needed. 4. Create, organize, and coordinate training for the plant and office personnel. 5. Organize and coordinate current safety information and accident alerts from other plants to educate the Safety Committee on safety topics; review and follow up on safety issues brought up by Safety Committee; coordinate safety inspections for Safety Committee to conduct and follow up on issues. 6. Train, coach, and develop direct reports as needed to meet business and departmental objectives.
B.S. Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Business Degree with a focus on Safety and Health Administration. 3+ years of Safety experience in a manufacturing environment. Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
