The Fort Dodge Historic Preservation Commission paid tribute to three of Fort Dodge’s 100-year-old buildings Tuesday night inside one of them — Heartland Senior Living, formerly Prusia Hardware, 610 Central Ave.
About 25 people attended the third annual Downtown Centennial Building Celebration, which included a ribbon cutting and short presentation.
The Prusia Hardware building, Wahkonsa Annex, and Rehder Cadillac, which is now E&R Properties, were recognized.
“It’s always great when you can celebrate a building that is 100 years old and still standing,” Rick Carle, president of the commission said.
Carle praised Fort Dodge for being able to preserve many of its historic structures.
