Description

Koch Nitrogen Company, LLC owns and operates facilities in Oklahoma, Iowa, Kansas and Nebraska that produce anhydrous ammonia, UAN and urea. Koch Fertilizer Canada, ULC, operates a production facility in Brandon, Manitoba, that produces anhydrous ammonia, ammonium nitrate, UAN and urea. In addition, Koch Fertilizer, LLC owns storage and terminal assets in northwest Europe with trading offices in Switzerland, France and United Kingdom.

Koch Nitrogen Company LLC is seeking a Mechanic for our Duncombe, Iowa plant.  The successful candidate will initially be responsible for performing PM work and repairs on rotating equipment from small water pumps to high speed multicomponent compressor trains. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable of Alignment processes and vibration analysis.

Requirements

• Technical or Trade School degree from an accredited institution or applied/relevant experience in rotating equipment and/or comparable equipment 

• H.S. Diploma or G.E.D.

• Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders and work at heights exceeding 100 ft.
• Normal day shift hours (40 hours per week) - must be available for emergency callouts as well as scheduled and unscheduled overtime
• Must be able to pass a pulmonary breathing test, wear a gas mask type respirator and full Level A PPE
• Must be able to read and follow maintenance procedures
• Excellent work ethic
• Must be a team player
• Good communication skills
• Strong safety knowledge

Preferred
• Experience in a mechanical field

• Experience working in a chemical plant
